There’s nothing like a South Florida boat show. And the 23rd Annual Palm Beach Boat Show is no exception. More than $350 million worth of boating’s best will be displayed in one million square feet of exhibit space throughout all three locations: on the Intracoastal Waterway and Flagler Drive; at the Palm Beach County Convention Center; and, for the first time, at the Rybovich Marina. With more than 1,000 vessels — from inflatables to fishing boats, sportfishers and superyachts — you will have an entire marine wonderland to explore. And there’s never been a better time to make the best deals available anywhere than right at the show.

What A Site!
It’s along the Intracoastal where you’ll find a wide array of yachts, superyachts, catamarans and cruisers all docked and on display on the Intracoastal. If you are not in the market for cruisers and yachts, you’ll also find runabouts, canoes and kayaks parked along Flagler Drive. In addition to the in-water and on-land display of boats, the newest accessories and electronics will also be waiting for you.

When you want to take a break from boating browsing and buying, stop by the Exotic Car Showcase. Catch a glimpse of automotive luxury from Ferrari, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Maserati, Jaguar, Land Rover, Audi and BMW.

Ready for a break and breather? The lovely outdoor Meyer Amphitheater features a fantastic selection of food and drinks along with live entertainment. Also, relax and enjoy a meal or cocktail while taking in the striking sights of the Palm Beach Boat Show at either of the floating entertainment barges located at the north and south ends of the Intracoastal.

Let’s Go Fishing!
Fishing is the name of the game at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. All your fishing gear, electronics, clothes, accessories and boats can be found throughout the 100,000-square-foot exhibit area. On Saturday and Sunday of the show, there will be fishing seminars for adults and kids.

The Kids’ Fishing Clinics are a perfect way for kids to learn the basics of fishing. The clinics are presented by Hook the Future and co-sponsored by The Palm Beach Post and are for kids ages 4-16. They’ll learn how to cast a rod and reel, how to cast net throwing, how to select tackle and lures and how to tie knots. Different aspects of fishing ethics will also be covered in these seminars. Upon completion of all the learning stations, the participating kids receive a free rod, reel and tackle kit.

While the kids are learning how to catch their first fish, parents can expand their fishing knowledge by attending the Xtreme Seminar Series, presented by Florida Sport Fishing. These seminars are dedicated to the hard-core angler. Whether it’s learning how to catch the big guys or brushing up on your tackle and bait knowledge, these seminars are a must for the avid sport fishermen. The series includes the seminars The Ultimate Spread, an innovative approach to trolling for South Florida’s dolphin, kingfish, tuna, wahoo and sailfish; Inshore Slam, a seminar dedicated to catching those like redfish, snook, tarpon and trout; and Midnight Monsters, an all-new seminar on the latest rigging tips, bait tricks, action-finding tactics and fish-fighting techniques for beating broadbill swordfish. Catch all three of these seminars, held by a leading panel of experts, Saturday or Sunday.

The New Superyacht Site
The Palm Beach Boat Show welcomes an exclusive new site to the 2008 show: the Rybovich Marina. The new in-water location will feature a select collection of luxurious yachts and superyachts. An appointment may be necessary to view any or all of the yachts there, but admission to the site is free and it’s open during the normal show hours. Visit ShowManagement.com for a list of exhibitors, yachts and contact information. Listings will also be provided in the Show Directory. Continuous water shuttles connecting the Rybovich Marina and Flagler sites will be provided. The shuttle service will be conveniently located on the east side of Flagler show site.
