POLITICAL SCANDAL
I am disappointed with your Dec/Jan 2008 issue. Since when did your magazine become a paid political announcement for a candidate that has nothing in common with your readers? I understand that a magazine makes its living by selling advertising, but this is ridiculous when your try to sell us a man who has a deep-rooted disdain for this country, a man who will not even wear the flag of his country, a man who will not honor those who really love this country. Shame on you, if you want to sell advertising for a political candidate, you should listed under “Advertisement.” Don’t try to disguise it. This was nothing more than a cheap sales trick. I will give you another chance, if this becomes the norm, I will respectfully request that you remove me from your mailing list.

Editor’s Response: I can assure you that the Barack Obama cover story you’re referring to was not bought and was in no way intended to serve as a political endorsement of the presidential candidate. His life and politics have been touched by the water from the moment he was born through his nomination as Senator of Illinois and beyond. We are planning exclusive interviews with other presidential candidates from both parties as the race heats up, always with a focus on their experiences on, in and around the water as well as water-related environmental issues and organizations they are passionate about.

AND THE WINNER IS….

GLOBAL SCOPE
As an avid sailor, I have to admit that I don’t have much time for powerboat magazines. But while I was in the states I picked up a copy of Wave and I have to say “Well done, mates!” I’m holding onto the issue for when I next visit Florida to take advantage of the dive spots recommended. I have to admit that I loved “What Happens on the Boat” and now go to your website to read the new articles. Also, I had no idea about “The 35,000 That Got Away” and I’m an Australian. Great job!

WAVE WRITES >> Due to the large number of Letters to the Editor we receive at Wave each month, we’ve decided to highlight two that really break the mold. We select one positive letter and one constructive letter to balance things out every issue. Additionally, each edition will feature three notable mentions. The winner of the “Letter of the Month” will receive a Star brite Boat Care Kit in a bucket to keep their boat looking like new. The kit is packaged in a durable “boat bucket” filled with boat wash, marine polish, hull cleaner, vinyl shampoo and a big sponge. Trust us, you’d be thrilled silly just to get the bucket that can be used as a cooler, a wash bucket, a trash can, and about 567 other things.
