The Hatteras fleet of convertibles and motoryachts lines the docks of New Bern’s Sheraton Grande, where customers enjoyed demo rides on the Neuse River.

Hatteras has done it again, this time to the delight of more than 300 special guests and sponsors gathered in New Bern, N.C., for the inaugural Hatteras Yacht Expo. Hatteras owners and interested guests alike enjoyed sea trials, plant tours, informative seminars, opportunities to contribute to future yacht designs and a sneak peek at new models scheduled to debut in the coming year. Hatteras also hosted VIP parties each night that included entertainment from comedian Tom Wilson, a book signing by New Bern resident Nicholas Sparks and prize giveaways. A boat parade showcased all models in the current product line, including the latest additions to the Hatteras Fleet, the 77 Convertible and the 60GT Tournament Edition. “This first Hatteras Yacht Expo has been more successful than we could have imagined,” says Mark Harakal, Hatteras’ president. “Not only did we sell several boats, we built a great foundation for many successful expos to come.”

A narrated boat parade demonstrated the entire fleet of Hatteras convertibles to Expo participants who watched from the bank of the Trent River in downtown New Bern.

Tom Wilson, a highly successful comic best known for his role as Biff in the Back to the Future trilogy, provided entertainment to the crowds of Hatteras enthusiasts.

Loyal Hatteras owners, Pamela and Thomas Winstead, take a second to pose for the camera at the Expo.

A Pirates of the Caribbean-themed grand finale celebration included a troop of professional pirate actors from nearby Beaufort, North Carolina.

A highly customized Hatteras-edition Harley Davidson was created to promote the Expo. Customers who purchased a Hatteras during the Expo could choose from a set of free promotional prizes, including a Harley Davidson motorcycle, Brunswick billiards table or Boston Whaler Montauk 150 with a Mercury outboard.
