Combine the most elegant marina on Florida’s West Coast, America’s fastest Le Mans prototype sports cars and the stars of the Indy Racing League and throw in a VIP front-row seat on a luxury superyacht, and you have the Acura Yacht Club at the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, which ran March 30 through April 1st. Now in its second year, the Acura Yacht Clubhouse, on board Shadow Marine’s 164-foot Mystere, welcomed such racing luminaries as winner Helio Castroneves and Danica Patrick as well as South Florida’s Honda and Acura megadealers Rick and Rita Case. Featuring notable vessels like Trinity’s new 157-foot Lady Linda and Roger Penske’s 167-foot Feadship Detroit Eagle, the 25-strong fleet and guests, organized by Lester Abberley II with Andretti Green Racing, celebrated a spectacular weekend. The 12th Annual Miami Boat Show Poker Run to Islamorada hosted by the Florida Powerboat Club and sponsored by the Florida Keys and Key West included more than 90 participating boats from 42 states and three foreign countries. It was also one of the last events to be held at the historic Holiday Isle Tiki Bar in the Keys, pictured above.
