WOW FACTOR
Ok, first of all, we would never ask you to put us in your magazine; most of us have a few pounds to lose! But we did want to thank you for the opportunity to take this photo with the hot model during your shoot in the Keys. Getting a chance to witness the production of your shoot made this Spring Break the best ever!
— Spring Break Crew
Los Angeles, CA
Editor’s Response: I think your bellies are all strategically hidden in this shot, so I went ahead and printed it anyway. The shoot wouldn’t have been the same without you. Check out “Shore Gods” in this issue for the end result of the thousands of photos we took that day. Maybe if you all hit the gym hard after you’re done with Spring Break, we’ll contract you to actually be one of the male models in an upcoming shoot. Until then, show this issue to all your friends...just make sure your girlfriends don’t see it!
FISH FINDS
There’s nothing in the world I like better than escaping with my buddies for a day of fishing. Sometimes I don’t actually have to get out there thanks to your excellent coverage of some of the world’s best tournaments. Keep up the good work. Here’s a picture of bud Brad Reid and I right after one of our biggest catches out on Lake Texoma in Texas...which reminds me, what’s up with that Marina SuperShow Seafood & Arts Festival you guys are putting together for April?

Executive VP, Univision Radio

Editor’s Response: Jack, great shot! And an even better catch! Glad you like our tournament coverage; we have a lot of fun going out there and competing whenever our deadline schedules allow. Soon you’ll be able to see us out there live on WaveLife TV, our newest media venture. Check out WaveLife.com for some of the segments we’ve already produced, including a feature on “MANcations.” As for the SuperShow, we have more than 150 boats already committed and scores of exhibitors, as well as gourmet seafood offerings and art from some of the world’s best marine artists. It’s sure to leave an impression on the industry — and on the tens of thousands of Wave fans that are expected to attend.

WAVE STARS
I would like to thank you for putting my daughters, Kayla and Melanie, in your February issue. Knowing the global reach of your magazine and the thousands of devout readers you have, the publicity was much appreciated. After your article ran, the 2006 World Cable Wakeboard Rankings were posted and I’m proud to say that Kayla, 16, is ranked 4th in the world in the Junior Ladies division and Melanie, 12, is ranked 6th in the world in the Girls division. Thanks for the coverage and I’ll definitely keep you updated as they continue to climb the rankings all the way to the top!
— Mike Chojnacki
Mutual of Omaha Companies
Pompano Beach, FL
Editor’s Response: Mike, the article on “Xtreme Watersports” wouldn’t have been the same without your daughters quoted in it. I’m glad to hear they’re doing so well. I hope our continued coverage of them gets them some sponsorship deals and brand relationships that can help them further their passion for the sport.

FIDEL’S DEAD?!
On my recent trip to Miami, I saw your magazine all over the news. Did you really kill Fidel Castro?! If you guys can generate that much publicity with a single spoof, I can only imagine what you could do for the organization I represent, Friends of the Orphans. Any chance of a Wave/Friends of the Orphans alliance anytime soon?
— Friederike Heinzelmann
Friends of the Orphans
Munich, Germany
Editor’s Response: In the photo below it looks like you and your friend had a lot of fun in Miami! I checked out your website and I was touched by the work you guys do. We’re planning six luxe events throughout 2007 and would love to tie you in to some of them. Helping the hundreds of thousands of less fortunate souls all over the world is something we feel very strongly about. I will definitely be in touch with you in the next few months. Maybe we’ll meet in person when I travel to Germany for Oktoberfest this year if we don’t cross paths before then.
