Yacht Sub
Believe it or not, there is finally a James Bond-type of ride available to anyone with a few extra million to spend. The Proteus is a yacht combined with a submarine. Built by submersibles manufacturer Exomos, based out of the United Arab Emirates, the Proteus seats up to 16 people on deck and eight inside the cabin - and everyone’s safe to keep their eyes open as it submerges to depths up to 65 feet. Don’t worry, you’ll get extensive training before your purchase so you know how to handle it before you flip the $6 million bill. For more information, go to exomos.com.

Awesome Autopilot
An autopilot is a handy thing to have, but rarely an item to have in your hand. Simrad takes care of that with the introduction of the AP27 Autopilot, pictured here to the far left. With 23 feet of cable, the AP27 functions as a second station, allowing full control from the bridge or cockpit. Go to simradusa.com and order one for $3,011.
Water Write
Researchers at Japan’s Akishima Laboratories have developed a way to spell out words and draw pictures on the surface of a pool through the use of 50 wave generators. The generators create pixels in the water and combine them to create the letters. It takes up to 30 seconds to input each letter. The technology is expected to be used primarily for entertainment purposes at tourism hotspots like hotels and theme parks.
LookAlike Lure
Make sure you don’t come home empty-handed ever again by investing in the high-tech crankbait, Solais Fatshad by Bikini Lures. Once submerged, this lure starts flashing as an electromagnetic buzzer sends out pulses that mimic the kind made by an injured fish. Get one at bikinilures.com for $35.
Wireless Control
Minn Kota’s wireless steering system, CoPilot, lets you control your boat from a small, waterproof remote control that fits on your arm, fishing rod or belt. The remote lets you turn the motor on/off, power up/down, steer left/right - anything you’d normally do with the foot pedal. An optional plug on the receiver allows you to switch back and forth from the CoPilot to foot pedal controls. Available for PowerDrive or Pontoon bow-mount trolling motors. Get the entire system at minnkotamotors.com.
